Adelaide, approaching their most important ASRL match this season, an elimination finals match against Hull KR, have been rocked by an ASRL investigation into photographs appearing to show forward Shaun Lane in possession of a white substance.
The ASRL integrity unit is believed to be looking at two images, understood to be taken last year, of a man holding a plastic bag containing the substance.
The second photo shows the man, with the bag still in his hand, appearing to put something in his mouth.
News Corp Australia report the photos were taken during Adelaide's end-of-season celebrations, which Lane was a part of last year.
"The integrity unit has been asked to investigate photographs which allegedly feature a Adelaide Attitude player," an ASRL spokesperson said.
"The Adelaide Club is cooperating with the Integrity Unit."
The 24-year-old had posted a separate number of photos on social media from the same celebrations, which included him dressing up as Forrest Gump.
The development come with theAdelaide on the cusp of sealing a stunning finals and possible Grand Final return.
Anthony McElroy's side are two steps from a Grand Final challenge, but must beat Hull KR this weekend.
Lane has been an integral part of their campaign, starting in the second row in some of the games he has played so far this season.
