Randy Bossert, Asrl's Head of Player security and 10% shareholder and water boy in the Sydney Oiler's RSC team Balmain Storm has let his emotions fly in his latest blog on his linkedin account.
And who's to blame him. This year the bidding pool is so choc-full that ASRL coaches out of action as long as more than a decade have been brought back by the smell of players that they can coach and use to eviscerate their enemies. Here is a short guide to the twenty hottest talents avialble in this years market.
1.Cameron Smith. Arguably the best player in the game and for a league where some coaches are struggling in the halves expect Cameron Smith to be playing number 7 at one of them. The perfect candidate for some one needing a hooker, Halfback and lock. Don't be surprised to see him end up at Glasgow, Sydney, North Queensland, Melbourne or Macarthur who all look likely suitors with cash to spend. (9 , 10 , 9 , 9 , 10)
2.Jake Trbojevic. Prop or Lock by trade. This youngster is already top of the world in terms of ability and ratings. Any coach who adds Jake T to his roster gets the leader and workhorse every pack needs. ( 9 , 9 , 3 , 3 , 8)
3.Israel Folau. Fullback by trade but utilised in the number 6 most of last season by champions Adelaide, Folau has been wowing crowds around the world with his speed and size. Melbourne and Glasgow have already made their interest in Israel known. (9 , 6 , 6 , 5 , 7)
4.Jack De Belin. Lock De Belin had a break out year in 2017 and will be extremely valuable as a player who will also fill in at hooker if needed. (9 , 9 , 1 , 1 , 8)
5.Greg Inglis. Back from a bit of a horror run with injuries, some question his ability to fly and bring back that speed, agility and power that made him the most dangerous player in the game a few short years ago. 31 years old now but injury free can still maybe get back to dominance.
(9 , 6 , 6 , 5 , 8)
6.Ryan James. Second rower or prop, James will get the job done. Defence, he will smash you, attack, he knows how to get over the advantage line and try line. (8 , 9 , 3 , 3 , 8 )
7.Clint Gutherson. Gutho has shone in positions all over the park from fullback to Winger to the halves to whatever may suit your requirements. A utility with a kick that would suit comfortably in the halves. (9 , 6 , 7 , 8 , 7)
8.Jordan Rapana. The biggest attacking gun up for grabs. A try scoring machine on the wing who will create points for whomever picks him up
(10 , 6 , 6 , 4 , 6)
9.Andrew McCullough. Tackling machine leaves Capetown amid the excitement of a new coach. McCullough is guaranteed to crack down and make those vital tackes in the middle. (7 , 10 , 7 , 5 , 7)
10.Nathan Brown. Another prop who had a breakout 2017. Look for this enforcer to make some more waves in 2018. (9 , 8 , 1 , 1 , 8)
11.James Graham. The Englishman has had a disappointing run this year as the mainstay of the Fairfield Stallions. Will be looking to show he still has the motor for the game. (8 , 8 , 5 , 1 , 8)
12.Ben Barba. The one time dynamo of the league has come back from scandal after scandal and is looking to take it back to the sensational.
(9 , 5 , 6 , 5 , 6)
13.Ben Hunt. A halfback with a lot to prove. Not as statistcally gifted as the others in this list but the best pure halfback up for grabs and plenty of potential to get better. (8 , 5 , 8 , 7 , 6)
14.Aaron Woods. Has been on somewhat of a lull by his standards but with new coaching and motivation he could get back to his representative best.
(9 , 7 , 4 , 4 , 7)
15.Matt Parcell. A hooker has tasted premiership glory with Adelaide this season past. The youngster had his best year ever and looks to kick on in new colours in 2018. ( 8 , 9 , 4 , 4 , 6)
16.Luke Lewis. An old hand who never disappoints. Has thrived at Macarthur and will soldifiy any backrow that is lucky enough to have him.
(8 , 8 , 4 , 3 , 8)
17.John Bateman. Second rower who has also spend time in the centres in his national team. (8 , 8 , 1 , 1 , 7)
18.Brett Morris. Have the Morris boys seen their better days behind them. Still good for tries. A great finisher on the wing (8 , 6 , 5 , 5 , 7)
19.Danny Brough. The elderly statesmen is stastically the best five-eight on offer and comes with a world of experience. (8 , 6 , 8 , 8 , 8)
20.Daniel Levi. Another youngster with something to prove. Touted as a future NZ international he lockes to tackle and he can do it all day.
(6 , 9 , 6 , 5 , 6)
All of us are almost as excited as Randy Bossert.
