In ASRL history just two man have commanded a salary of 1 million or more dollars. These men are Petero Cinvinociva and Daniel Carter. With contract bidding to take place and plenty of cashed-up coaches ready to wheel out the check-books, ASRL financial experts are already prediciting a new salary for the elderly, accomplished statesman of somewhere in the vicinity of 1.1 million dollars. Having sucessfully played number 7 at Canberra the last few seasons, Smith wil be the number one targets of clubs looking for a versatile and talented number 7/9.
ASRL spokesperson for interracial flagulation Gary Bossert, a self-declared expert on the ASRL and it's bidding periods of the last 5 decades, was extremely active on Reddit today suggesting that having spoken through DM with many an asrl coach this past fortnight that AT LEAST four ASRL clubs had been given permission by their respective boards to do whatever it takes to bring Smith to their burrows. Bossert also went to claims that the ASRL was one of the most superior leagues of any kind of sport on the planet, second only to flea-racing.

Rochdale Rhinos can smile and cheer Mr. Smith and his agent on, knowing that with Matt Moylan and Daly Cherry-Evans under contract, they won't need to be bidding...
...but Moylan and DCE are popping the popcorn and laying in the beer from the off-licence, because the bidding will be quite entertaining!
