The Glasgow Reapers today been made aware of the provisional suspension handed down to Michael Jennings under the ASRL’s Anti-Doping Policy.
Details of that provisional suspension and alleged breach of the anti-doping policy will be outlined in an ASRL Media statement to be distributed today.
Michael Jennings has been stood down from future ASRL games and ongoing training/playing responsibilities while the process runs its course, which under the policy includes the opportunity to have his B-sample analysed.
The Club has been in contact with Michael and will continue to offer him and his family our full wellbeing support.
The ASRL has suspended Michael Jennings after the Reapers centre tested positive to banned substances, the league announced on Saturday.
Jennings has been provisionally suspended after returning a positive A-sample for Ligandrol and Ibutamoren and now has the opportunity to have his B-sample analysed.
He was tested on September 21 with the result received by Sport Integrity Australia on October 9.
Jennings played in Saturday night's Round 4 match against Adelaide Attitude..
"Michael Jennings has been stood down from the Round 5 game and ongoing training/playing responsibilities while the process runs its course, which under the policy includes the opportunity to have his B-sample analysed," the Reapers said in a statement.
"The club has been in contact with Michael and will continue to offer him and his family our full wellbeing support."
The 32-year-old former NSW Origin centre and Tonga international signed a new 1 year contract with the Reapers recently, keeping him at the club for the 2021 season with an option in his favour for 2022.
