ASRL PLAYER RATINGS, CONTRACTS AND OFF-SEASON CALENDAR
ASRL PLAYER RATINGS
The last day for player ratings for NRL and ASRL players is the 4th of July (next Sunday). From then, player ratings will be finalised and entered into the database for next season. Mack will be finalising a lot of player ratings and the odd mistake can be made. If you spot a mistake with a player rating, post it here and we will fix it.
ASRL CLUB CONTRACTS
With player ratings finalised after the 4th of July, coaches will be able to work on their contracts for the upcoming season based on the new ratings for players. I'd like all new contracts up and finalised by the 18th of July. This will enable me to create a player pool for next season with the off contract players in it.
OFF SEASON CALENDAR
An off-season calendar will not be released until the qualifying semi finals have been played. The reason for this is Im not sure how fast we'll be able to play finals as I try to usually wrap them up pretty quickly.
MAD BARRY CHANGES
1. From next season, the second Mad Barry draft will be based on a random draw. The first Mad Barry draft which is based on the number of elite players (8/8 or higher) in a squad will be retained. This decision is based on a our forum conversation in the General Section a while back.
2. Due to a vote conducted earlier this season, NO player will be exempt from Mad Barry selection. Which means, if a player comes back from retirement or comes from another sport, they are free to be selected for Mad Barry no matter what their profile is. A player can only be selected for Mad Barry once they have played at least one game of league at their NEW ESL or NRL club or their affiliate feeder club/lower grade. This will enable us to give them somewhat of an accurate player rating.
STAT GUIDELINES
I will get onto making some clearer guidelines next week. It was a project we started on but never completed.
RSC BIDDING CHANGE
We all agree that fastest finger/computer first bidding completely sucks and not the way we want ASRL to go. With that said and also discussed in the ASRL form, we have come to an agreement with this new rule.
*If an RSC player's bid is $100 000 or over at the close of the regular bidding period, the auction WLL continue for that player between the coaches that are eligible to bid AS WELL AS the club where the RSC player has come from. The bidding will continue under the usual 12 hour rule.
