Because Glasgow doesn't have a halfback and we are trying to improve all three teams. If you look at all three teams pick ups they aren't exclusive.

I think giving Bill the chance to maybe swap Haughton and Sims for two others might be the only change but that would be a minor inconvenience i hope.

How many players can we pick up for Canberra? I thought it was 3 but the list above is significant

How did Fairfield/ Brisbane end up with Josh Hodgson, off-contract at Canberra? Is it a free for all? What have I missed?

Guys I want to tidy this up today but have no idea what is going on. If someone could enlighten me, please do so ASAP. Players going everywhere, player pool decimated, uncoached teams grabbing players right, left centre....I'm totally lost as to whats going on.

The idea was to make Fairfield, Glasgow and Canberra stronger teams. Hodgson was added as a result of a small dispute between coaches. Other than that it's just players from Capetown and Brisbane up for grabs. That said, it has left rather slim pickings for this contract bidding but for the greater good?

After talking with Bill this morning, i feel like i made a mistake in adding Josh Hodgson to the picture as he is not a member of either Capetown or Brisbane. I a hoping that in the spirit of the game, Fairfield are willing to accept Danny Haughton (a year in year out 7/10 or 8/10) plus someone else to keep the peace...An api koroseu (100k) or Alex Johnstone (100k) perhaps?

Well just quietly, I'm dissilllusioned & more than a bit pissed off at the whole debacle. If I knew Hodgson was going to be just swiped from the pool, he would never have left Canberra. Canberra had a large cap space left & was going after him again, prepared to pay whatever it took to get him. Thats how the game is supposed to work, right? Just hoping it was less than what would have been his extension value. The domino effect now leaves Auckland sour they let Cook go. That was done, assuming, there was going to be a bunch of good to great hookers in bidding, but now, with the shit thats gone on, thats not the case & the whole dynamics of the CB period is totally different. It is, IMO, a shitfight, & I am over the uncoached sides continually fucking the game for me. I'm pretty much over it. CB was always supposed to be a season highlight, but again, its nothing more than picking shit off a carcass. Canberra wants Hodgson back, its just F***** nthat a club can pick up a player like Fairfiled has, & given the shit left in the pool, Auckland would want to hang onto Cook as well. The desire to continually look after the uncoached sides has wrecked this game for a number of seasons now. I'm losing interest fast.
The idea of merging clubs would have worked fine, the altering off salaries, & having open season has resulted in a very dissapointed Auckland coach. Another bidding period destroyed.

With these amalgamations do all the players except the ones in the above post move across to the other side??? Was it mentioned somewhere that we could dump deadwood for free?? I think its not really an amalgaation in the end. The original Glasgow, Canberra and Fairfield teams have the right to dump players to make that happen if necessary. I know Canberra wont need to dump anyone as they have plenty of cap space and Fairfield will. All of Capetown and Brisbanes other player will go into bidding. If I stick with this, Canberra would be dumping dead wood as well in this shitfight.

I am sure there is a way to make everybody happy now that we are down to six coaches. I have already admitted it was my mistake to have Hodgson offered up and i originally did so as to the benefit of Canberra. Houghton is also off contract for glasgow. As such i think both of them should remain in the player pool.

Its not just this Mack, its every year now & seems to be the games No 1 obsession. The efforts to make these uncoached sides stronger are stealing from the game the reason I play it. I can start making plans months out, then stuff like this gets thrown up, its happened for a few seasons now. This is just the final straw I guess. I don't give a flying fuck about uncoached teams, they shit me. Give me Cook back, someone else can look after Canberra & I'll just mostly sit out bidding & see you all when you work this stuff out. I'll just coach Auckland, I no longer want to be part of the coachless stuff.
