Stallions prop Nelson Asofa-Solomona should learn his fate next week following a late-night brawl outside a nightclub in Bali last weekend.
The 23-year-old was ordered home by his club to give his version of events to club officials, after reports emerged that he was defending his Fairfield teammate who had been assaulted earlier.
The ASRL's Disciplinary Committee want to conduct their own interviews to investigate the matter.
On Wednesday, ASRL Chairman Roger Bossart said he expected that report by close of business on Friday and hoped to make an announcement next week. He was not showing any signs of sympathy for Asofa-Solomona regardless of any possible levels of provocation.
"Make good decisions, and if you're in a situation like that where there is trouble brewing, walk away," Bossart said.
"Take yourself out of that situation. And make very smart choices particularly late at night. That is my advice to players.
"I think every single player who puts on an ASRL jersey is acutely aware of their responsibility. We can't have a repeat of what we saw last year.
"Players will know if they make poor errors of judgment or poor decisions there is going to be significant consequences for those. And I think every player is acutely aware of that."
His indiscretion came in the same week Manly back-rower Joel Thompson – from his hospital bed – warned his social media followers that mixing alcohol and too much frivolity with mates could have bad consequences after being injured in a fall.
Bossart said the two cases coming so close together was not giving him nightmares that behavioural issues were once again taking a grip on the game's public image.
"Not at all (worried); we're well placed after what has been a phenomenal year for rugby league," he said.
Fairfield await the outcome of the investigation, concerned that any suspension could mean thr end of the season....even before it's started!
