The bell has tolled for Glasgow Reapers following a sensational early season takeover that has seen the Scottish franchise head south of Hadrian's Wall and a blast from the past returning to the ASRL.
The Merseyside Dockers have been born out of an ambitious bid to reignite rugby league in the north west of England and Jim Green - a man whose list of former clubs dwarfs his coaching achievements - has been brought in from cold to spearhead the venture.
Green has ended an eight-year exile from the brutal and unforgiving ASRL arena but the proud Brit, his waistline a little bigger and his hair a lot greyer, is relishing his return.
"It's like I've never been away," said Green.
"There's a lot of familar names and faces so there's nothing to fear and no reason to think we won't be able to rattle a few cages immediately.
"To be honest, coming back to the ASRL feels like hooking up with your first girlfriend again after a few years apart. The connection and the chemistry is still there, if anything that flame burns even brighter even though she's piled on a few pounds and let herself go a little bit.
"I've had a meeting with the squad and there's no shortage of talent. We're in pretty good shape and I'm looking forward to getting stuck in."
The Dockers will play out of the 53,394 capacity Anfield in Liverpool with dummy half James Roby, the man of perpetual motion, confirmed as Green's new skipper.
The franchise takeover sees RSC outfit Partick Pirates renamed as South Lancashire Saints, moving to play out of the 18,000 capacity Langtree Park in St Helens.
