Some of you when you saw this thread on the main page would have rolled your eyes and thought that Roger is beating this door down yet again....lol.
Here are my two new proposals. If there is genuine debate then it will be put up to a vote.
Union is a different game to league. It is very difficult to accurately rate a player due to poor tv coverage in some instances, lack of stats etc. Nowhere near the amount of scrutiny is placed on union players as league players when it comes to ratings.
I do understand that some clubs have invested on union players as a key part of their recruitment and I respect that. My theory is that union players already in the sim should be exempt from this rule and continued to be rated as per normal. This exemption would not disadvantage any coach.
My first new rule proposal is that if any player converts from rugby league to union from our decision date onwards, those players should be treated as a retirement and deleted from the sim. A guy like Vunivalu would be granted an exemption for example as he signed with union before we would change this rule. However, guys like Ben Teo would not as he is now back in league with no union deal in the pipeline.
My second new rule proposal is closely connected to the first. With exempted players, if a coach does not choose to the extend the contract of a union player with an exemption, that player would be deleted from the sim rather than go into contract bidding.
Im keen to see what you guys think.

Good debate. With the current number of teams in ASRL, the pool of NRL/ESL players spreads wide and there's some serious talent knocking around in RSC.
While I agree with Roger's proposals, personally I wouldn't be opposed to culling RU players completely come the end of the current season. I think we have enough RL depth to ensure every ASRL/RSC club can have a decent roster.
Appreciate other coaches may oppose my view as they are more reliant on RU players but ultimately this is an RL sim and we are all RL fans.

On a personal level, I'd choose to cut all union guys at the end of the season but I think there would be a protest by some coaches to that. My position on culling every union player is that if every coach agreed to do it, I would support it. If at least one coach was against it, I'd side with them as I don't want to mess up things for a coach that doesn't agree with the proposal.

My opinion on this is that all RU players should be culled, but if they are on a contract they should be allowed to see out that contract.
