The Sydney Oilers are over the cap after bidding by $40 000.
I discovered the mistake by searching through the player pool and finding Jordan McLean there. I remembered that I won him through bidding but was not placed in the won players list by Mack.I forgot about him. I went back to check through my finances and including my late winning bid by Sneyd, I am over the cap by $40 000.
I did not edit my contracts or players won page to show that it was an honest mistake. However, I do not blame Mack for my error as it is the players responsibility to ensure they are under the cap at ALL times. I did not do that and therefore should be punished for the error.
Upto you guys on how to deal with it. I'll accept any punishment without complaint.

Yikes. I tried to keep it up to date as possible but was too busy to put in the last bids. Sorry about that. Did that affect both the Sneyd and O'Connor bids? If so, wouldn't they just revert to the previous highest bid before Sydneys last bid? I think no harm, no foul as bidding was all but over by then anyway.

Not your fault at all mate....you did a bloody good job in helping us keep track.....but coaches have to take responsibility for their cap.......honest mistake and will accept whatever is fair punishment.

When you bid on O'Connor you were still under. Only the Sneyd bid put you over. So that means everyone was finished bidding by this stage and the only team who was affected was Adelaide. If it was earlier in bidding, i would be more harsh, but because of the circumstances having so little effect on the process as a whole, I think a cash fine would be sufficient and next season i will put up a list of punishments based on cap offences pre-bidding.
0-50k infringement - I think a 250,000 fine is sufficient if no one else has anything else to say.

In my opinion, Roger has been punished 250k for being over the cap. The other thing he has to do is now get under the cap. He can do that however he pleases & needs to do that by kick off. So, he needs to pay off or trade a player to get under. Thats fair for all. The fine is the punishment, the rest is for compliance.
Thats how I see it panning out in a fair manner for all parties & clubs.

Im okay with the fine. I will also need to get under the cap. Do I
(a) offer it to the bidder who was the highest BEFORE I went over
(b) Pay out Sneyd as he was the last guy I purchased and put him in the pool.
(C) Pay out anybody to get under the cap and put them in the pool.
Im happy either way with this one. Whatever is fairest outcome.

I have a personal interest in this so i will leave it to all else to work out.

I say go with C, as I said, the fine is your punishment. Its a compliance matter now.
Having said that, there are plenty of others to decide this than me, that's just my 2 bobs worth.

Looking at those rules, there is no real rule on HOW to get under the cap if a team is over. That will have to be fixed.

I go with A as both bidders wanted him.

I go with A as both bidders wanted him. I tend to agree here. I disadvantaged a legal bidder in Adelaide so I do think it is more fair that he has the rights to him than in an open pool situation. However, I do have one stipulation. I think that the next bidder should have the right to refuse the purchase if they choose but Mack seems keen to take him. Im with A as well in this situation.

A if Mack wants him. But equally fine with C.

People have spoken. I've decided to offer Sneyd to Mack for the last bid he made of 210k. He has the option to accept or reject the offer. I will pay the 250k fine. Sorry for the troubles guys.
