Bloke has been probably Leighs best this season, very mobile, ball playing and very solid in defence for a prop.
Currently 6/8
11 games this season 6 tries 6 line breaks 17 offloads 18 tackle breaks 105.7 metre a game at 7.65 metres a hit up.
28.45 tackles at about 94% completion so bloody solid in D.
He did play one match where he got badly injured in the first few minutes. Excluding that match he averages 113.9 metres and 30.8 tackles a game.
So attack is pretty obvious and defence is obviously extremely solid.
In his 11 games he only made 1 solitary error.
Looking for an 8/8/1/1/7

I reckon he is a classic 7/7 ....no frills, does a job without any fanfare or spark. He falls over the line for 8 defence based on numbers, but I'm not overly comfortable with giving it.
7/8/1/1/7

I feel shit in giving him an 8/8 but Im going to give it.
I've seen Leigh play once and cannot make out who Sidlow is so Im going entirely on stats. Based on pure stats alone, I feel he has done enough.........just.
Im giving the 8 in attack due to the guy having a few strings in his attacking bow statwise. Im giving the 8 in defence as he hits the benchmark with a great percentage.
If the Leigh season was still going, I probably wouldn't give it as he could easily go under one or both benchmarks in one game. But, those are the stats he finished on.
Im not thrilled with it but I have to be fair. Im giving 8/8/1/1/7 for now (don't lock it in). I reserve the right to change my mind inside the ten day limit if Padds gives a more informed opinion of him. An 8/8 in my opinion is a big deal....it puts a player in an elite class. His stats are just there but Im not quite sure he is there.

Cant bring myself to give this guy an 8/8. He has always been a journeyman prop who has stood out in a poor Leigh side. When they are relegated I cant see him standing out. Much as I dont rate him will agree to a 7/8. Like Roger I will have a second look

6 tries, 6 line breaks, 100+ metres a game, offloads, tackle breaks..more than a line break or try a game...Just sayin'. Leigh fans adore him.

Upon reflection, I've changed my mind.
As I've stated the other day, an 8/8 or above is classed as an elite player. We should not award those lightly.
I've done my homework on the bloke. The bloke has played a lot of lower division rugby league and when he has played in the top uk division, his clubs have never been contenders. That says a lot for me as if he was an elite standard player, you'd think he would have had a stint at a strong club somewhere along the line. From Toronto to Leigh is not exactly a sought after player.
His numbers are very borderline 8 in both categories. I hate to give an 8/8 based on that considering (a) he has had only an 11 game season (b) he does not have previous known form like this that we know of. Previous borderline forwards like Shaun Lane, Kurt Capewell and Corey Hariweara-Neira didn't make the cut and I'd consider all three better than this Sidlow guy.
One more thing....stats can and do lie at times. Luke Brooks for example was the second highest try assists man at the end of the regular season and finished equal 4th overall. Statwise, he is nine on numbers. Watching him, no way in the world is he a 9.
7/8/1/1/7 is fair for him due to having a strong season numbers wise. But, I don't consider him elite by any means.
