At the conclusion of each season the ASRL has a bidding period where all clubs with available funds may bid upon off contract players. Each club has a salary cap of $6,500,000 to spend on their squad and any coach who goes over this cap will be severely punished.
The minimum bid for any player 7/7 or above is $100,000. Any player with stats below 7/7 can be bid on starting at $50,000.
Coaches may also bid on players in other teams RSC squads if those players are not protected in that teams 10 player safety net. If the bid is less than $100,000 the coach of the RSC team has the option of retaining that player in their own team by matching the bid.
All players won in contract bidding can be given up to a 5 season contract.
The format for all bids is as follows:
Old Club: Old bid: New Club: New Bid:
The Punishments for going over the salary cap during bidding are as follows:
$1-$150,000 over = $250,000 fine $150,000 to $250,000 over = Loss of 2 competition points More than $250,000 = 4 competition points

Here are the rules. 250k fine & I guess he has to get under by paying someone out? He said he is happy for Sneyd to go to the last bidder which was Adelaide at 215k. Auckland had already said they were out by that stage.
