Adelaide will be looking to put a disappointing season 2018 behind them as they go into battle with Melbourne this Friday night in the first match for the 2018/19 season. Fans are ravenous footy after the long 4 month off season and Adelaide are promising an electrifying performance starring a number of new recruits.
Semi Radrara will once again be free to roam from the fullback position with perennial fullbacks Sam Tomkins and Ben Barba pushed elsewhere in the 17. It will be Tomkins first game in Adelaide first team colours since he helped Adelaide to their maiden premiership over Capetown more than a decade agao. Also making Adelaide first team debuts will be Tevita Pangai Jr, Victor Radley and Andrew McCullough.
One player who will possibly not be in such a fit of bubbling glee might be former captain Jason Taumalolo who has been moved to the reserves bench for the season opener. This only gives credence to the whispers that have been heard around the league that there may even be talks of moving Taumalolo to a new team if the right trade comes up.
Jamayne Isaako will be taking over kicking duties from Shaun Johnson.
New Aquisitions Jake Friend and Ryan Hinchcliffe will be starting 2018/19 earning their stripes at kensington.
