A while back, we had a discussion on contract extensions. I put up a proposal which was fairly well received. allstarrugbyleague.freeforums.net/thread/646/contract-extensions-ideaIt is time to make a vote on the issue. Option 1 : Keep the contract extension prices the same. Option 2: Change to the new contract extensions prices. If the new idea wins the vote, it won't be implemented until the end of NEXT season, not this season. It will give coaches time to adjust. As the vote is based on changing previous rules, a change will require a vote of over 50% for it to be upheld. The vote will go for 10 days.

Could I offer one of my opinions. If the player drops ratings in the season that his contract is expiring, instead of the contracts increasing could they decrease? This way it makes it more like like and the contracts are based on form throughout there career (based on real life)

This way it makes it more like like and the contracts are based on form throughout there career (based on real life) This gets floated every so often, but the issue is that it basically renders the salary cap useless. We want a decent turnover of players (or at least to make it hard to stockpile players) and allowing reduced salaries makes it easier to pile up a heap of players. Often you actually come out better off letting the player go into bidding and buying them back cheaper anyway.
