This idea first popped up from Roger recently and Dino has echoed it as well in recent days. Currently we have 8 active coached teams plus three teams with caretakers. As caretakers Dino, Padds and I are happy to continue mentoring Fairfield, Brisbane and Melbourne respectively.
From the three uncoached sides, Canberra is probably the strongest and i think Tatts and Maunder the most likely coaches to return. Therefore, Rochdale and North Queensland would be the teams being dropped.
This would add players of the calibre of DCE, Matt Moylan, Martin Tapau, Boyd Cordner, Josh Addo-Carr and others to this seasons bidding period.
Once this poll is decided we can give firm dates for bidding, new form guides and the start of season 2019.

I voted for this to begin for the 19/20 season, my reasoning for this is because if we give it a season we may be able to recruit a couple of new coaches from other forums throughout the rugby league community.
Once we go down to 12 teams, it will be harder to add further teams to the league, and if new coaches do come through, could potentially put them onto a wait list, or we create a Division 2 who are made up of a bunch of park footy players, and that will fail as there is no appeal to coaching unknowns... People will want to coach players that they know and hear about in the news.... And it will be hard to do that, as they will be taken up by all of the existing coaches.

With a vote of 6 to 1, the vote has passed in the affirmative to fold North Queensland and Rochdale. This means a number of huge additions to the player pool for bidding. As such some coaches may want to rethink extensions.
